Positive discipline was founded 40 years ago by Jane Nelson of the United States, then, she and Lynn Lott jointly developed a series of books and courses. Positive discipline is an effective way to educate children without punishment or arrogance, helping parents and teachers set a kind but firm parenting with equality and respect. It can cultivate self-discipline, self-confidence, sense of responsibility, cooperation and problem-solving ability by inspiring, encouraging, connecting and paying attention to solutions, to lead children to learn social skills and cultivate good quality.

正面管教的英文是 Positive discipline，简称PD，由美国的简·尼尔森创办于40年前，而后简又与琳·洛特联手开发了一系列的书籍以及课程。正面管教是一种既不惩罚也不骄纵的有效管教孩子的方法，它帮助家长和老师们建立一种和善而坚定、平等而尊重的养育态度，通过启发、鼓励、连接、关注解决方案等方法，来培养自律、自信、责任感、合作以及解决问题的能力等，使孩子受益终身的社会技能和良好的品格。

Positive Relationship, one of the 4 themes of EYFS, tells that ‘Warm and loving and foster a sense of belonging’, ‘Sensitive and responsive to the child’s needs, feelings and interests’, ‘Supportive of the child’s efforts and independence’, which coincides with the concept of PD and complements each other.

EYFS四大主题之间的关系中提到——积极的人际关系是：温暖，有爱，能使孩子有归属感；对孩子的需求，感情和兴趣敏感并给予回应，对孩子自己的努力和独立性给予支持。这和正面管教的理念不谋而合，相辅相成。

Family education was never out of our attention, especially in today’s fast-speed urban life. More importantly, the high-quality parent-child time is what parents eager for. So, October 27, Eva, the director of teaching department and the lecturer, held the first parent school of this semester in CDIK Baoan Campus with the theme of the Positive Discipline Salon: Kindness and Firmness at the Same.

Kindness and Firmness at the Same

Alfred Adler and Rudolf Dreikurs use the ‘kindness and firmness’ to describe the most effective methods of discipline and education. However, "kindness" seems with a different meaning – it doesn’t mean ‘easy to say yes’. When you, kindly and firmly, tell children that they cannot do something as they want, they may not think you are "being kind.". Kindness is neither "indulgence" nor "indecision". Kindness is a way that making the "firmness" in full of respect and easy to accept.
